Eko collection: Dinjith Ayyathan's film smashes box office with massive 8-day run

New Delhi: Malayalam thriller Eko is roaring at the box office, crossing Rs 13.1 crore in just eight days. Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, this final chapter of Bahul Ramesh's gripping Animal Trilogy stars Sandeep Pradeep, Vineeth, and Saurabh Sachdeva.

Set in the misty hills of Kaattukunnu, it follows a mysterious disappearance and shocking twists with fierce Malaysian dogs. Early estimates show Rs 1.45 crore on day eight—will it keep climbing?

 Day-Wise box office breakdown

The film Eko opened strongly on November 21, 2025, collecting Rs 80 lakh on day one. It saw a big jump over the weekend, earning Rs 1.85 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.05 crore on Sunday, as per trade analyst Sacnilk. Numbers dipped during the weekdays to Rs 1.7 crore on Monday, Rs 1.65 crore on Tuesday, Rs 1.4 crore on Wednesday, and Rs 1.2 crore on Thursday. On its second Friday, November 28, it added Rs 1.45 crore, pushing the total to Rs 13.1 crore. 

 Occupancy and audience response

Eko recorded 22.08 per cent overall Malayalam occupancy on Friday, November 28, 2025. Morning shows had 11.67 per cent occupancy, rising to 15.40 per cent in the afternoon, 20.81 per cent in the evening, and peaking at 40.45 per cent during night shows. The Sandeep Pradeep starrer has impressed audiences with its thriller elements, especially the supporting roles by Vineeth and Ashokan, which have received praise.

 Plot and cast highlights

Set along the Kerala-Karnataka border in Kaattukunnu, Eko centres on Kuriachan, played by Saurabh Sachdeva, who mysteriously vanishes from his estate. Revenge seekers arrive but meet his third wife, Mlaathi Chedathi (Soyi), portrayed by Biana Momin, along with caretaker Sandeep Pradeep and her trained Malaysian dogs. The cast includes key roles by Vineeth, Narain Kumar, Binu Pappu, and Ashokan. Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, the film wraps Bahul Ramesh's Animal Trilogy with unforeseen twists.
