Survivor in the Rahul Mamkoottathil case approach CM, likely to be arrested

Thiruvananthapuram: In a major turnaround in the sexual assault case pertaining to Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil, the survivor has met Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan at his office at secretariat.

As per sources from the Chief minister’s office, the survivor reached the CM’s office by evening and apprised about the entire incident at the office. Chief minister requested her to file a detailed complaint mentioning the incidents. Chief minister directed H Venkatesh to take the necessary action following the meeting with the survivor.

As per latest information, the survivor whose audio conversation mentioning about the mental and physical trauma after she was forced to undergo abortion by the Congress leader had gone viral. The audio clip had led to massive outrage against Rahul Mamkoottathil.

Rahul likely to be arrested soon

Sources say that Rahul Mamkoottathil could be arrested very soon as the complaint letter has mentioned about sexual assault and forceful abortion.

Rahul Mamkoottathil however defended his position through a Facebook post where he mentioned that he is innocent and will prove his innocence in a court of law.

Case details

Multiple women, including a Malayalam actress and a writer, came forward with allegations of harassment, stalking through social media, and criminal intimidation. Specific accusations include forcing a woman to conceive and later pressuring her to have an abortion, with alleged audio clips and WhatsApp chats surfacing online.

However, a woman had alleged that she had been sexually harassed with the promise to get married and was later forced for abortion. The revelation had come up through a audio clip that was played by a Malayalam news channel.

BJP senior leader K Surendran who met the media demanded the arrest of Rahul Mamkoottathil. VD Satheeshan, the leader of opposition refused to comment on the matter today.
