Mysore Dasara 2025, the world-famous 11-day cultural extravaganza, commenced with full traditional splendour. The festival, also known as Nada Habba, was inaugurated by Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq, who performed a floral offering to Goddess Chamundeshwari atop Chamundi Hills.
This year's celebrations mark a unique moment of political unity, as the BJP called off its planned protest, choosing to participate in the cultural event. Preparations at the Mysore Palace are underway, with the royal Khasaagi Durbar being set up. Decorated elephants, Srikanta and Ekalavya, are also a key part of the traditional rituals. The festival will run until Vijayadashami on October 2nd.
