Puducherry witnessed heightened security and significant disruptions at the TVK's first public rally, addressed by Chief Vijay, since the tragic Karur stampede. The event, held at Ubalam Expo ground, was marred by a security alert when a man identified as David, reportedly a CRPF personnel from Shivaganga district, was found carrying a licensed handgun at the entry point. He was taken for questioning to ascertain the weapons presence at the event.

Adding to the concerns, chaos erupted as numerous TVK workers, lacking mandatory QR codes, attempted to force entry by jumping barricades, climbing walls, and hiding in bushes, leading to confrontations with police.

Authorities had imposed stringent restrictions, including a 5,000-person attendance cap, a ban on roadshows, and prohibiting Tamil Nadu residents from attending. Vijay addressed supporters from a specially arranged campaign van.

The measures underscored efforts to prevent overcrowding, particularly crucial following the September 27th stampede in Karur, highlighting the political significance of this meticulously planned event for TVK and its leader.
