A viral video circulating on social media shows a man attempting to hit Kishore with a slipper. The lawyer retaliates with his hands while abusing the attacker, as several people try to shield him.

In the video, Kishore can be heard shouting “Victory to Sanatan Dharma” during the assault. There is currently no information on the identity of the man who threw the slipper at him.

Following his inappropriate behaviour in court, Kishore was suspended by the Bar Council. Despite widespread condemnation, he insisted he had no regrets, claiming that God appeared to him in a dream and directed him to act. Kishore, a senior advocate registered with the Delhi Bar Council since 2009, is believed to be around 71–72 years old. After his suspension by the Bar Council of India, he is barred from litigating cases until further orders.

Why did Kishore threw a shoe at BR Gavai?

The case was linked to a petition seeking the restoration of a damaged Vishnu statue at the Khajuraho complex in Madhya Pradesh. On September 16, the Supreme Court dismissed a plea seeking the reconstruction and reinstallation of the seven-foot-tall statue of Lord Vishnu at Khajuraho’s Javari Temple, calling it a “publicity interest litigation.”

During the hearing, Chief Justice Gavai remarked, “This is a purely publicity petition. Go and ask God himself to do something. If you are a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu, pray and meditate a little.” Hearing this, Kishore reportedly lost his temper. In anger, he attempted to throw his shoe at the CJI. The former Chief Justice warned him and ordered him to leave the courtroom.
