Actor Vijay, leading the TVK, held his inaugural public rally in Puducherry, marking his first major address since the Karur incident. The rally saw a significant turnout, where Vijay vehemently advocated for full statehood for Puducherry.

He criticised the central government, alleging neglect, citing halted projects, and accusing them of making unfulfilled promises to the region.

Addressing the gathering, Vijay highlighted the historical connection, referencing MGRs government formation in Puducherry in 1974. He also lauded the Puducherry governments effective management of the rally, contrasting it with perceived shortcomings elsewhere.

Vijay promised to represent the people of both Puducherry and Tamil Nadu, asserting that his commitment extended beyond linguistic or geographical boundaries within India. He cautioned against trusting the DMK, claiming they would fool the populace and fail to deliver on promises.

Looking ahead, Vijay declared TVKs ambition to hoist its flag in Puducherry in the upcoming 2026 elections, promising development in areas like tourism and essential services like ration shops.
