Ranchi: Hundreds of youngsters from the Muslim community took to the streets of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, in a significant protest march organised by the Jharkhand Muslim Yuva Manch and other associated social organisations. This marks the first such demonstration by the Muslim community under the current Mahagathbandhan government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The march, which commenced from the Law University Ring Road in Kanke, saw enthusiastic participation from Muslim youth who collectively voiced a range of critical demands aimed at addressing concerns within their community. The procession was a visual representation of their unified call for government attention and action on several pressing issues.

At the heart of the protest were several key demands, including:

*Recognition of Alim and Fazil Degrees: A primary concern raised was the government's stance on the degrees of Alim and Fazil, issued by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JACK). Protesters called for immediate clarification and the reversal of any move to declare these degrees unconstitutional or revoke their recognition, emphasizing the impact on students.

Formation of Madrasa and Urdu Education Boards: The march highlighted the long-standing issue of the absence of a Madrasa Board and an Urdu Education Board, even after 25 years since Jharkhand's formation as a separate state. The youth demanded the swift establishment of these crucial bodies.

Restoration of Urdu Schools: Participants also called for the immediate restoration of the status of 544 Urdu schools, underscoring their importance for linguistic and educational preservation.

Anti-Mob Lynching Law: A strong demand was made for the implementation of a special law against mob lynching in Jharkhand, coupled with an urgent call to halt such incidents and ensure the safety of all citizens.

Mohammad Shahid Ayyubi, president of the Jharkhand Muslim Yuva Manch, and General Secretary Sameer Ali articulated the community's sentiment, stating that the Muslim community had contributed significantly to the formation of the current government. They warned that if the state government does not positively address these legitimate demands of the minority community in a timely manner, a phased statewide agitation would be initiated.

Following the impactful rally, a four-point demand letter was formally submitted to government officials by the Jharkhand Muslim Youth Forum, reiterating their pressing concerns and expectations for governmental action. The youth expressed their determination to pursue these issues until positive resolutions are achieved.
