After lodging two separate complaints against match referee Andy Pycroft following the handshake row during their group-stage match against India in the Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan once again registered a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) post their six-wicket defeat against the Men in Blue in the Super 4 clash on Sunday, September 21.

Pakistan team management reportedly sent an email to the ICC, complaining about the television umpire after their request was turned down by match referee Andy Pycroft. The Pakistan team management complained about the television umpire, Ruchira Palliyaguruge, over Fakhar Zaman's dismissal in the game.

Zaman was dismissed on 15 after getting caught behind by Indian wicket-keeper Sanju Samson off the bowling of Hardik Pandya. The dismissal courted controversy as Pakistani fans argued that the catch was not clean. The TV umpire deemed the catch to be a clean one after on-field umpire Gazi Sohel referred the decision upstairs.

The replays didn't provide any conclusive evidence, as it seemed from one angle that the ball might have dropped before landing in Samson's glove. However, another angle showed that Samson had his gloves beneath the ball before it landed. Third umpire Palliyaguruge ruled Zaman out, and the Pakistan batter walked off the ground after showing displeasure over the decision.

As per a report in Telecomasia.net, Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema went to match referee Any Pycroft to complain about umpire Palliyaguruge over Zaman's dismissal. However, the match referee turned down his request. The Pakistan team manager then sent an official email to the ICC, complaining about the umpire.

"Pakistan team manager Naveed Cheema went to the match referee, Andy Pycroft, to complain, but was told that it was not his domain. Alternatively, the manager sent an email to the ICC complaining about the umpire," sources were quoted in a report by Telecomasia.net.
