Amnour
Located in the Saran district of the state, Amnour is one of the 243 state assembly constituencies in Bihar. The current MLA from this constituency is Krishan Kumar Mantoo of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who secured 63,316 votes in the 2020 elections, beating Sunil Kumar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by a margin of 3,681 votes.
The 2015 election data showed the total number of registered electors at 242,659. During the 2015 elections, 130,803 electors in this constituency were male while 111,847 were female and 9 belonged to the third gender. Voter turnout in this election cycle was 54.08 per cent as 131,218 electors out of the total registered electors cast their votes.
In the last legislative assembly elections in 2020, the Election Commission documented the total number of registered electors at 263,716. Out of this total, 138,111 electors were male, 125,600 electors were female and 5 were of the third gender in this constituency. Polling for this constituency took place in the first phase of elections on November 6, 2025.
Amnour is intricately related to the Hindu epic of Ramayana. It is believed that this is the place where Gautam Rishi entered his hermitage and the place where his wife was turned to stone by a curse and later set free as lord Rama’s foot touched her. This constituency covers an approximate land area of 244.15 square kilometers and its geographic coordinates are 25° 55 '46.2"N 84° 57' 31.3"E. Amnour shares its borders with seven other legislative assembly constituencies of Bihar which are Paroo, Sahebganj, Vaishali, Parsa, Garkha, Marhaura and Taraiya.
