Makar Sankranti: Lord Shiva seated in sacred Ghee Kamal cave for Magh month at Uttarakhand’s Jageshwar Dham

On the holy festival of Makar Sankranti, a unique tradition is observed at the famous Jyotirlinga Jageshwar Dham in Almora. Lord Shiva is seated in a cave made of pure cow ghee and lotus, known as the Ghrit Kamal, where he remains in hibernation for the entire month of Magh.
