Araria assembly constituency

Araria is one of the 243 state assembly constituencies of Bihar. This constituency is located in the district of the same and is also a part of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies from Bihar. The current MLA from this constituency is Abidur Rahman of the Indian National Congress (INC), who secured 103,054 votes in the 2020 elections, beating Shagufta Azim of Janata Dal United by a  margin of 47,936 votes.
In the last election in 2020, the total number of registered electors were 318,978 where 165,886 registered voters were male, 153,081 registered electors were female and 11 registered electors were of the third gender.   2020 elections saw the voter turnout at 59.08% as 188,464 out of the 318,978 total registered electors cast their votes. Polling for this constituency in the upcoming elections will be held in the second phase on 11th November 2025. 
Araria constituency covers an approximate land area of 381.62 square kilometers. A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Bihar share borders with Araria constituency, which are: Narpatganj, Chhatapur, Forbesganj and Amour.
