Darbhanga is one of the 243 state assembly constituencies of Bihar, located in Darbhanga district. The current MLA is Sanjay Saraogi from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who won the 2020 assembly elections with 84,144 votes. He defeated Amar Nath Gami of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by a margin of 10,639 votes.

Voter Details and Turnout
As of 2024, Darbhanga has a total of 314,719 registered voters, including 165,411 males, 149,295 females, and 13 third-gender electors. In the 2020 elections, the constituency had 305,788 registered voters, with 162,452 males, 143,326 females, and 10 third-gender electors. The voter turnout in 2020 was 55.79 per cent, as 170,606 voters cast their ballots. In 2015, the turnout was slightly higher at 57.76%, with 163,235 voters participating out of 282,595 electors. The upcoming election for Darbhanga will be held in the first phase on 6th November 2025.

Darbhanga constituency covers approximately 251.52 square kilometers and is geographically located at 26°10'34.7"N 85°53'03.1"E. It shares borders with four other assembly constituencies: Darbhanga Rural, Madhubani, Keoti, and Bahadurpur.
