Dhaka is one of the 243 state assemblies from Bihar, it is located in the East Champaran district of the state. The current MLA from this constituency is Pawan Kumar Jaiswal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who secured 99,792 votes in the 2020 elections, beating Faisal Rahman of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by a margin of 10,114 votes.
According to the Election Commission data from 2024, the number of total registered electors is 326,275. Male electors in this constituency amount to 172,073, female electors amount to 154,188 and 14 electors of the third gender. Data from the last election cycle of 2020 shows the number of total registered at 321,111 where 168,899 electors were male, 152,192 electors were female and 20 electors were of the third gender. In the 2015 elections, the number of total registered electors was 285,342 where 150,674 registered electors were male, 134,653 were female and 15 were of the third gender. The 2020 election cycle marked a voter turnout of 64.75% as 207,922 out of the total 321,111 electors cast their votes while in the 2015 elections the voter turnout was 65.34% as 186,452 electors out of 285,342 cast their votes. Polling for this constituency in the upcoming elections will be taken out in the second phase of elections on 11th November 2025.

A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Bihar share borders with Dhaka constituency, which are: Narkatia, Chiraia and Riga. This constituency also shares an international border with Nepal.
