Garkha constituency, located in the Saran district of Bihar is one of the 243 legislative assembly constituencies that form the Bihar state government. This assembly seat is reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes only. The current MLA from this constituency is Surendar Ram of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), who secured 83,412 votes in the 2020 elections, beating Gyanchand Manjhi of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of 9,937 votes.

This constituency covers an approximate land area of 274.15 square kilometers and its geographic coordinates are 25° 46 '53.8"N 84° 50' 56.0"E. Garkha shares its borders with seven other legislative assembly constituencies of Bihar which are Marhaura, Amnour, Parsa, Sonepur, Maner, Barhara and Chapra.
