Lalgang assembly constituency

Lalganj is one of the 243 state assembly constituencies in Bihar, situated in the Vaishali district. The current MLA is Sanjay Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who won the 2020 election with 70,750 votes, defeating Rajesh Kumar of the Indian National Congress (INC) by a margin of 26,299 votes.

According to 2024 Election Commission data, Lalganj has a total of 350,651 registered voters, including 183,303 male electors, 167,330 female electors, and 18 electors of the third gender. In the 2020 elections, the constituency had 332,710 registered voters, comprising 177,231 male, 155,463 female, and 16 third-gender electors. In 2015, the total registered electorate stood at 310,259, with 167,419 male, 142,835 female, and five third-gender electors.

Voter turnout in Lalganj has shown a steady trend over recent elections. In 2020, 193,075 of the 332,710 registered voters cast their ballots, marking a turnout of 58.03 per cent. In 2015, 176,176 votes were cast from 310,259 registered electors, resulting in a turnout of 56.78 per cent. Polling for Lalganj in the upcoming elections is scheduled for the first phase on November 6, 2025.

Covering an area of approximately 253.69 square kilometres, Lalganj is located at 25°51'01.4"N 85°14'08.9"E. It shares its borders with five other assembly constituencies: Vaishali, Parsa, Hajipur, Raja Pakar, and Mahua.
