Paroo is one of the 243 legislative assembly constituencies in Bihar. It is located in the Muzaffarpur district of the state. The current MLA from this constituency is Ashok Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who secured 77,392 votes in the 2020 elections, beating independent candidate Shankar Prasad, by a margin of 14,698 votes.

According to 2024 data from the election commission, the total number of registered electors in this constituency is 318,378. Male electors in this constituency amount to 168,154, female electors amount to 150,208 and 16 electors of the third gender are registered in this constituency. Data from the last election cycle in 2020 shows the total number of electors in this constituency at 313,920, where 165,328 electors were male, 148,584 electors were female and only 8 electors belonged to the third gender. In the 2015 elections the total number of electors was 277,601, where 148,372 electors were male, 129,225 electors were female and only 4 electors belonged to the third gender.
