Parsa assembly constituency

Parsa constituency, located in the Saran district of Bihar is one of the 243 legislative assembly constituencies. The current MLA from this constituency is Chhote Lal Ray of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), who secured 68,316 votes in the 2020 elections, defeating Chandrika Roy of Janata Dal (United) (JDU) by a margin of 17,293 votes.

In the last legislative assembly elections in 2020, the Election Commission documented the total number of registered electors at 266,693, of which 140,227 electors were male, and 126,464 were female and 2 electors were of the third gender. Voter turnout in this election cycle was 57.79%. 

2024 Election Commission data shows the total number of registered electors in Parsa constituency at 272,319 electors. Male electors in this constituency were 141,775, while female electors were 130,544. Polling for this constituency took place in the first phase of elections on 6th November 2025.

Parsa is part of the Saran district, which has great historical significance. This area was a revenue hub for the Mughals as records have been found in the Ain-i-Akbari, which is the official documentation of administration under emperor Akbar. As East India Company took over the region, it continued to serve as a revenue hub.

This constituency covers an approximate land area of 279.49 square kilometers. Parsa shares its border with six other legislative assembly constituencies of Bihar, which are Amnour, Vaishali, Lalganj, Hajipur, Sonepur and Garkha.
