Sahebganj assembly constituency

Sahebganj is one of the 243 state assembly constituencies in Bihar. It is located in the Muzzafarpur district of the state. The current MLA from this constituency is Raju Kumar Singh of the Vikassheel Insaan party (VIP) who secured 81,203 votes in the 2020 elections. He defeated Ramvichar Rai of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by a margin of 15,333 votes.

The 2024 Election Commission data shows the total number of registered electors in Sahebganj constituency is 3,00,986 electors. Male registered electors in this constituency is 1,60,294, female registered electors here is 1,40,681 and 11 electors of the third gender are also registered in the constituency. Data from the last election cycle of 2020 shows the total number of registered electors was 3,08,120 where 1,63,616 electors were male, 1,44,492 were female and 12 electors were of the third gender. In 2015 elections the number of total registered electors was 2,77,987 where 1,50,358 electors were male, 1,27,614 electors were female and 15 electors belonged to the third gender. 

The 2020 election cycle marked a voter turnout of 59.58% as 1,83,566 of the 3,08,120 registered electors cast their votes while in the 2015 elections the voter turnout was 58.18% . In that year 1,61,730 electors out of 2,77,987 cast their votes. 

Polling for this constituency in the upcoming elections will be held in the second phase of elections on November 11, 2025.

Sahebganj constituency covers an approximate land area of 396.19 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sahebganj are 26° 11 '01.3"N 84° 58' 18.8"E. A total of seven Assembly constituencies in the state of Bihar share borders with Sahebganj constituency, which are: Kesaria, Kalyanpur, Baruraj, Paroo, Amnour, Taraiya and Baikunthpur.
