Supaul is one of the 243 state assembly constituencies of Bihar. Located in the district of Supaul, the current MLA from this constituency is Bijendra Prasad Yadav of Janata Dal United (JDU), who secured 86,174 votes in the 2020 elections. He beat Minnatullah Rahmani of the Indian National Congress (INC) by a margin of 28,099 votes.

According to the Election Commission 2024 data, the total number of registered electors from this constituency stood at 307,471. Male registered electors are 159,281, and female 148,186. Only 6 electors of the third gender are registered in this constituency.

In 2020 elections, the total number of registered electors were 288,703. Out of these, 150,627 electors were male, 138,067 female and only 9 of the third gender. There was a voter turnout of 59.54% in the 2020 elections. Of the 288,703 electors, 171,882 cast their votes.
