Warisnagar assembly constituency

Warisnagar constituency, located in the Samastipur district of Bihar, is one of the 243 legislative assembly constituencies. The current MLA from this constituency is Asdhok Kumar of Janata Dal (United) (JDU), who secured 68,356 votes in the 2020 elections. He beat Phoolbabu Singh of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) (CPIMLL) by a margin of 13,801 votes.

In the 2020 legislative assembly elections, the Election Commission recorded a total of 322,259 registered voters in the constituency. Out of these, 171,198 were male, 151,050 female, and 11 third gender electors. Voter turnout stood at 59.01%, with 190,159 voters casting their ballots.

The 2024 Election Commission data shows the total number of registered electors in the constituency was 334,383. Male registered electors were 175,272, and female 159,111. There were no electors of the third gender.

The main economic drivers in Warisnagar are agriculture, small scale manufacturing and local trade. This region cultivates mainly cash crops like rice, wheat, maize and tobacco. It also manufactures tractors and autoparts.

The constituency covers an approximate land area of 340.2 square kilometers. Warisnagar shares its borders with six other legislative assembly constituencies of Bihar, including Kalyanpur, Samastipur, Ujiarpur, Rosera, Bibhutipur and Hayaghat.
