Box office report: Akhanda 2, Anaconda, TMMT and more

New Delhi: It’s a blockbuster holiday season across the world. From small-town Indian tales to jaw-dropping Hollywood spectacles, Christmas 2025 turned cinemas into celebration hubs.

While Avatar: Fire and Ash conquered the global box office with its massive earnings, Indian films like Tu Meri Main Tera and Akhanda 2: Thaandavam also pulled crowds in festive spirit.

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri

The Bollywood romantic drama opened well, earning Rs 28.75 crore net in India and Rs  42.1 crore worldwide. Overseas markets added Rs 8 crore. It maintained steady footfalls with strong family audiences during Christmas week, driven by music and chemistry between the leads.

Anaconda

This Hollywood action-thriller roared globally, notching Rs 450 crore worldwide. While its Indian collections were modest at Rs 5.83 crore net, international markets, especially the US and China, powered it with a huge Rs 205 crore overseas haul. The film remains a holiday season favourite.

Vrusshabha

The Malayalam magnum opus saw a decent start, earning Rs 1.64 crore net in India and Rs 2.16 crore worldwide. Despite its limited screen time, the film drew a strong audience of Malayalam families. Overseas numbers stood at Rs 0.25 crore, showing potential for long-term box office presence.

Avatar: Fire and Ash

James Cameron’s visual spectacle stormed the box office with an earth-shattering Rs 7,400 crore worldwide and Rs 153.25 crore net from India. Overseas markets contributed a record-breaking Rs 5,300 crore. The film stands as 2025’s biggest global blockbuster, setting new benchmarks in visual storytelling.

 Akhanda 2: Thaandavam

Balakrishna’s action-packed Akhanda 2 created magic at the Telugu box office, collecting Rs 92.24 crore net in India and Rs 120.85 crore worldwide. Overseas earnings stood at Rs 12.3 crore. Fans celebrated the film as a mass entertainer, pushing strong repeat audiences through the festive period.
