Tia Bajpai has revealed a new update on her supernatural thriller Lilly Rose, marking her much-awaited return to the horror genre. The actor-singer shared insights into the film's global vision, its layered narrative, and how the project reflects her artistic evolution both as an actor and musician.
New Delhi: A fresh update on Lilly Rose has been shared by Tia Bajpai, whose return to the horror genre has been one of the year’s most talked-about developments. The supernatural thriller, shot as an international English-language project, has been positioned as a key step in her global career, while also marking a homecoming for the actor-singer.
Speaking about what drew her to Lilly Rose, Tia explained that the script immediately captured her attention. "I knew Lilly Rose was the right film for my comeback in horror the moment the story was narrated to me. It had an instant pull… it absorbs you completely. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a part of it.” According to her, the narrative mixes emotional and psychological tension with atmospheric dread, offering smart twists that keep viewers on edge.
She added that the film explores a blend of real-world fears and supernatural forces. "At its core, Lilly Rose is about the horrors of the real world colliding with the horrors of the unknown… it’s the kind of horror that pulls you in and stays with you.”
Since the film has been made in English, extensive effort was put into fine-tuning her accent. "I had to really work on getting the accent right… perfecting the accent was a top priority for me.”
The project’s visual canvas spans multiple countries. Tia revealed that each location carries "its own unique shade of fear” while still preserving its natural beauty, adding to the film’s striking contrast between breathtaking landscapes and an unsettling mood.
Reflecting on her return to the genre, she shared that time away has brought her greater clarity. This phase, she noted, has allowed her to mature both personally and professionally, leading to a more nuanced performance. "This isn’t the basic, old-school horror people are used to; it’s a more evolved, nuanced take on the genre.”
Confirming her involvement in the music, Tia said, "Of course, I’m singing for the film… I’ve personally written the songs, and our talented music producer, Arian Romal, has crafted the entire album.”
