The directive, issued under Section 303 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, bars all state police forces and investigative agencies from taking him into physical custody for one year.

The Border Security Force on Friday stopped an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Pargwal sector of Jammu and Kashmir and detained a suspected militant. Officials said arms and ammunition were recovered during the operation.
The incident comes at a time when security forces have intensified surveillance across border areas following alerts about renewed cross border activity. The detained individual has been taken into custody for questioning as agencies assess the scale of the latest attempt.
Security forces have strengthened counter terror measures along the border and in the hinterland after intelligence inputs suggested Pakistan has reactivated several launch pads across the International Border and the LoC in Jammu region.
Sources said the detained infiltrator, identified as Abdul Khaliq from Darhal in Rajouri district, has links to Jaish e Mohammad. His capture has prompted agencies to review infiltration routes and increase patrols as the threat environment heightens ahead of the winter period.

The minister said the government is tightening fare oversight through a new tariff monitoring unit in the DGCA and by making airline fare sheets more transparent. He said festive season fares cannot be capped and must follow demand and supply. Increasing airline capacity, he added, is the most effective way to manage rising fares. The ministry has already facilitated extra flights during peak periods such as Onam and the Maha Kumbh. He also urged Tamil Nadu to cut ATF tax to help reduce operating costs for airlines.
The Civil Aviation Minister said the UDAN scheme has transformed regional connectivity by bringing airports to locations that never expected air links. The programme has been extended for ten more years and India now has 164 airports, with plans to add 120 destinations in the coming decade. He said new airlines are joining the sector and many are connecting tier three cities for the first time. Three new carriers have received no objection certificates and two more have applied, reflecting growing interest in the expanding aviation market.
The Civil Aviation Minister told Parliament that airfares cannot be capped during the festival season, stressing that pricing must remain market driven. He said India faces a significant aircraft shortage, noting that Boeing and Airbus together have nearly 1,700 pending orders from Indian carriers, which is slowing expansion and affecting capacity.
The minister added that the limited availability of aircraft continues to put pressure on the sector. He reiterated the government’s aim to bring many more airlines into the market to boost competition and improve passenger options, particularly at a time when demand is rising faster than fleet additions.

Reports from Washington suggest United States President Donald Trump is considering an ambitious geopolitical grouping that would bring India, the US, Russia, China and Japan into a single strategic forum. The concept, informally labelled the "Core 5", is being discussed as a possible counterweight to the G7 and could dramatically alter global power dynamics by placing the world’s largest superpowers and Asia’s biggest democracy in one strategic circle.
According to Politico, which cited Defence One, the idea appeared in an unpublished draft of the US National Security Strategy. The White House has declined to confirm whether such a proposal exists, and analysts note that the grouping remains speculative given current global tensions.
