Delhi Mandates 50% Work From Home Under Intensified GRAP-4 Pollution Curbs

| Updated on: Dec 17, 2025 | 03:44 PM

Delhi has introduced significant measures to combat soaring air pollution levels, with Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra announcing immediate directives from the Delhi government. Effective from tomorrow, a mandatory 50% work-from-home policy will be implemented for all government and private institutions across the National Capital Region. Non-compliance with this order will result in hefty fines.

In addition to the work-from-home mandate, the Delhi government has also addressed the plight of construction workers affected by the intensified GRAP-4 restrictions. Registered construction workers whose activities have been halted will receive a compensation of ₹10,000.

This financial aid, initially provided under GRAP 3, will be transferred directly to workers accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer and will continue even after GRAP-4 ends. These steps aim to mitigate the impact of the severe air quality emergency gripping Delhi.
