PM Modi prays at Saptmandapam: Whats the significance of 7-temple complex in Ram Temple

Before hoisting the flag, the Prime Minister also prayed at Saptmatapam. The seven temples of the Saptamatapam are also within the premises of the temple.

Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hoisted the saffron flag on top of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. He was accompanied by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, among other dignitaries.

The grand ceremony was held in the holy city to mark the full completion of the Ram Mandir. The Dhwajarohan event was organised close to two years after the consecration ceremony of the temple, which was held on January 22, 2024.

Know what is Saptmandapam and its significance

The Sapta Mandapam was constructed within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex, which includes temples dedicated to seven contemporary figures of Lord Ram. Among them are Maharishi Valmiki, Vashishtha, Agastya, Vishwamitra, Nishadraj, Shabari, and Ahalya. The Saptmandapam are separate from the six main temples that are located in the premises of the Ram Mandir

Apart from hoisting of the saffron flag, these seven temples were also inaugurated on Tuesday. The construction work of each of these temples were carried out in architectural style, which is quite similar to that of the Ram Temple. The temple trust has built 800 metre 800-meter-long wall around the Ram Temple. The idols of Lord Surya, Ganesh, Hanuman, Annapurna, and Mata Bhagwati have been installed on this wall.

Devotees would be able to visit the entire complex

Earlier, Nripendra Mishra, Chairman of the Temple Construction Committee, said that devotees would be able to visit the entire temple complex from the next day after the flag hoisting ceremony. Along with Ramlala, devotees would also be able to visit six temples, including Sheshavatar, Sapt Mandapam, and Kuber Navratna Tila.
