Unimaginable threat: Balochistan cautions India over China-Pakistan ties, lauds Operation Sindoor
Balochi representative Mir Yar Baloch has warned India of a potential Chinese military deployment in Balochistan, linking it to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative. In an open letter, he urged India to strengthen strategic cooperation with Balochistan and commended India's decisive actions during Operation Sindoor in response to terrorism hubs facilitated by Pakistan. The letter highlighted growing security concerns for both India and Balochistan amid regional tensions.
New Delhi: Balochi representative Mir Yar Baloch warned India about brewing threats, cautioning the External Affairs Minister (EAM) regarding the growing military ties between Beijing and Islamabad. Baloch spoke of an "unimaginable threat” to the Indian subcontinent and also commended India’s retaliation against Pakistan.
In an open letter posted on X on January 1, the Baloch leader warned that the strategic relations between China and Pakistan are tied to the completion of the final stages of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative. He expressed concern over the security threats that both his country and India could face amid what he described as a "dangerous” initiative.
'China may deploy its forces in Balochistan within a few months'
In the letter, Baloch noted that Balochistan has faced relentless threats from Pakistan for the past seventy-nine years. He cautioned that Baloch forces need to be equipped to counter Chinese military deployment, adding that China could station its forces in Balochistan within a few months.
The Baloch leader stated that the presence of Chinese military forces without the people’s approval would bring unimaginable consequences for both India and Balochistan. "The presence of Chinese boots on Balochistani soil without the consent of the 60 million Baloch people would pose an unimaginable threat and challenge to the futures of both Bharat and Balochistan,” he added. He urged the Indian government to engage in tangible, reciprocal cooperation between Bharat and Balochistan.
'Steadfast commitment to regional security and justice'
Mir Yar Baloch also commended the Modi-led government for its decisive action during Operation Sindoor in 2025, saying the operation targeted "terrorism hubs facilitated by Pakistan” and demonstrated "exemplary courage and a steadfast commitment to regional security and justice” following the Pahalgam terror attack.
The letter concluded with a note of hope for stronger collaboration between what Mir Yar Baloch described as "our two great nations.”
Pakistan and China have consistently dismissed claims that CPEC is a military pact, insisting that the initiative is strictly economic. However, India has long viewed the corridor as a serious security threat, particularly because it passes through areas of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which remain volatile.
