New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Phase-2 of the Pune Metro Rail Project. This phase involves Corridor 2A (From Vanaz to Chandani Chowk) and Corridor 2B (From Ramwadi to Wagholi/Vitthalwadi), as extensions of the existing Vanaz–Ramwadi corridor under Phase-1, scheduled to be completed within next four years. Both these elevated corridors will be 12.75 km in length and include 13 stations, connecting fast-developing suburbs such as Chandani Chowk, Bavdhan, Kothrud, Kharadi, and Wagholi. Cost of Phase-2 of Pune Metro Rail Project As per the government, the estimated cost of the project is Rs 3,626.24 crore, that will be equally shared by the Centre, Maharashtra government, and external bilateral/multilateral agencies.
