New Delhi: The shares of Adani Power are in focus as the company signed a deal with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) for a 2400 MW Thermal Power Project for long term procurement of electricity on behalf of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd.
The Thermal Power Project will be set up at village Pirpainti in Bhagalpur.
“We would like to inform that we have now signed a Power Supply Agreement (“PSA”) with BSPGCL for supply of 2,400 MW of power from a greenfield ultra super critical plant to be set up at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district of Bihar,” Adani Power said in a regulatory filing.
The Thermal Project deal in Bihar comes just after Adani Power, sealed a deal with MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for supply of additional power from a new 800 MW Thermal Power Project, under “Greenshoe Option”, whereby total awarded capacity increased to 1600 MW. The thermal plant will be established in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh.
On September 5, 2025, Adani Power conformed to the exchanges that its board of directors has given the green signal, inter-alia, for the sub-division / split of equity shares of the company.
The company has fixed September 22, 2025 as the ‘Record Date’ for the purpose of determining the eligibility of shareholders for sub-division / split of existing 1 (one) equity share of face value of Rs 10/- (Rupees Ten only) each fully paid up into 5 (five) equity shares of face value of Rs 2/- (Rupees Two only) each fully paid up.
Adani Power share price has increased 8 per cent over the past one month. In the last six months, the stock appreciated around 26 per cent. The shares traded at Rs 647 a piece at the time of writing this article on September 16, 2025.
