Kolkata: On the first day of the week, Jan 12, the markets staged a smart recovery -- by about 1,000 points from the day's lows. At the end of trading hours, Sensex 30 rose 302 points to close at 83,878, while Nifty 50 also gained 107 points to close at 25,790. Half of the 30 stocks in the Sensex basket gained with marked rise in energy, metal and banking stocks. The socks that will be closely watched by investors will attract their attention due to quarterly results, large orders, investments, and corporate announcements. Let's have a look at the stocks.

The important companies which are supposed to announce quarterly results Q3FY26 today include Bank of Maharashtra, Navkar Corporation, Oriental Hotel, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, Tata Elxsi, 5paisa Capital, Just Dial, Sigma Solve and Tokyo Plast International.
Stocks in focus today
TCS: TCS has released its consolidated results for the third quarter of FY26. The company's profit declined 13.9% (year-on-year0 to touch Rs 10,657 crore, compared to Rs 12,380 crore in Q3FY25. Revenue rose 4.9% to touch Rs 67,087 crore, compared to Rs 63,973 crore a year ago. EBIT increased 7.9% to Rs 16,889 crore, compared to Rs 15,657 crore a year ago. EBIT margin increased from 24.47% to 25.175.
Biocon: Biocon's board has approved the opening of a QIP (Qualified Institutions Placement) on January 12. The floor price for the QIP has been set at Rs 387.74 per share. According to media reports, the issue size could be around Rs 4,150 crore.
KP Green Engineering: KP Group has signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to invest Rs 4,000 crore in renewable energy projects in Gujarat. Under this agreement, solar and wind-solar hybrid projects with a total capacity of approximately 855 MW will be installed.
Sical Logistics: Sical Logistics has received a letter of acceptance worth Rs 4,038 crore from South Eastern Coalfields for the Porda Chimtapani open cast project in Chhattisgarh.
NLC India: The board of NLC India has given in-principle approval to the proposal to list its subsidiary, NLC India Renewables. This proposal will involve the sale of up to 25% of its stake in one or more tranches through a public issue. The board also announced an interim dividend of Rs 3.60 per share for FY26. The record date for the dividend is January 16. The board also approved an investment of up to Rs 66.60 crore in NLC India Renewables, if required, for green energy projects.
Apollo Techno Industries: Everest Corporation has acquired 2.73 lakh shares of Apollo Techno Industries, representing approximately 1.99% of the company's paid-up equity. The transaction was struck at a price of Rs 132.6 per share, for a total value of approximately Rs 3.6 crore.
KV Toys India: Royal Alpha Opportunity Fund has acquired 79,200 shares of KV Toys India. This stake represents 1.26% of the company's equity. The transaction was completed at a price of Rs 326.27 per share, for a total value of approximately Rs 2.58 crore.
Shanti Educational Initiatives: Mauritius-based investment firm Multitude Growth Funds has purchased 10.58 lakh shares of Shanti Educational Initiatives, representing a 0.65% stake in the company. The transaction was struck at a price of Rs 170 per share, with a total value of approximately Rs 18 crore.
Unified Data Tech Solutions: Investor Pankaj Prasoon purchased 1.4 lakh shares of IT solutions company Unified Data Tech Solutions at a price of Rs 330.14 per share, totaling approximately Rs 4.63 crore.
