West Bengal Primary School Teachers Recruitment 2025: Application for 13,421 posts begins at wbbpe.wb.gov.in
The appointed candidates will receive a monthly salary of Rs 28,000 as per the 7th Pay Commission. The additional allowances include House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Travel Allowance (TA) and other benefits as per government norms.
New Delhi: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has started the West Bengal primary school teachers recruitment 2025 application process. Through this recruitment drive, a total of 13,421 Assistant Teacher (Primary) posts in government, aided primary and government-sponsored primary or junior basic schools across all districts will be filled. The West Bengal Primary Teacher recruitment 2025 application fee for the general category candidates is Rs 600. For the Other Backward Class (OBC) A and B category candidates the fee is Rs 500. The Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Physically Handicapped (PH) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) catgeory candidates need to pay Rs 300 as the application fee.

WB primary teacher recruitment 2025 eligibility criteria
The below-mentioned criteria need to be fulfilled to apply for the primary teachers recruitment in West Bengal-
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; or
- Class 12 or its equivalent with at least 45 per cent marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education; or
- Class 12 or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd); or
- Passed Class 12 or its equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education); or
- Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Candidates must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education as per the rules and principles of the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE).
- The age of the candidate needs to be between 20 to 40 years with relaxations for SC, ST, OBC (A and B), EC, Ex-Servicemen, PwD and Para Teachers.
The selection of the candidate will be done based on the marks obtained in TET (80 per cent) followed by demonstration of classroom teaching and an interview (10 per cent each). Those who will qualify need to proceed with document verification.
