'Fake pregnancy claim, large FD': What led to triple murder of Bengaluru family

A 27-year-old man allegedly murdered his parents and sister in Kotturu town of Bengaluru's Vijayanagara district over a financial dispute. Police said the accused killed the family to access his father's fixed deposit, falsely claimed his sister was pregnant to mislead investigators, and even filed a missing person's complaint to divert suspicion. The bodies were later recovered from the house, leading to his arrest along with an uncle accused of instigating the crime.

New Delhi: Bengaluru witnessed a triple murder case, where a 27-year-old man killed his parents and sister for money at the Kotturu town of the Vijaunagara district. The police has arrested the man and is conducting further investigation to the matter.

The accused have been identified as Akshay BJ and had killed the three to obtain fixed deposit his father. After commiting the crime, Akshay filed a missing person's report to mislead the police.

Police said that the Kottur resident killed his father Bhimraj H(52), Jayalakshmi J(50) and his sister Amrutha(18) on January 27. The accused then buried the body inside the house.

 A fool-proof plan 

During the investigation , Akshay falsely claimed that he killed the three to protect the family's honour. as his sister became pregnant. However, post-mortem reports confirmed that amrutha was not pregnant.

The cops recovered the bodies from the house last Saturday, following which Akshay was arrested. The accused's uncle Vasanth Kumar(53) was arrested as he instigated Akshay to commit the murders.

How  did an FD led to a murder?

The cops discovered that Bhimraj owned a duplex house in Harapanahalli, and he sold it for approximately Rs 1.5 crore. When Akshay demanded money for starting his own business,the father refused to give due to his alchohol addiction. Bhimraj, instead kept Rs 50 lakh was in a Fixed Deposit (FD) in Amrutha’s name for her education, while retaining the rest.

The frequent fights and denial of money led to the cold-blooded murder of the family.
