A Bengaluru-based tech startup is making headlines with its unconventional hiring pitch. The comapny is offering a whopping Rs 1 crore per year for a Full-Stack Lead, with no requirement for a college degree or even a resume.

Sudarshan Kamath, founder of Smallest AI, shared the viral job post on X, calling it an opening for a "Cracked Full-Stack Lead." The role promises a total compensation of Rs 1 crore annually — Rs 60 lakh as base salary and Rs 40 lakh in company equity. But what truly caught attention was the casual application process: interested candidates only need to send a 100-word introduction and links to their best work to the company’s email.

The job is based in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar and requires five-day in-office attendance. However, Kamath described it as "flexible." The ideal candidate should have 4–5 years of experience and strong technical skills in Next.js, Python and React.js. Bonus points for those who’ve built systems from scratch and scaled them up. Kamath clarified that this is not a managerial role but one meant for a hands-on developer.

"College – Does not matter, Resume – Not needed,” the post boldly states, resonating with a growing trend of skills-first hiring in the tech world.

The post sparked interest on social media, especially over the salary structure and ESOPs (Employee Stock Ownership Plans). Some users questioned the valuation behind the equity offering, while others applauded the transparent and skill-oriented culture.

One user wrote, "ESOPs say 40LPA. So are you granting 40L worth of ESOPs every year based on current or future valuation?” Another chimed in, "Make it 1 crore base with 1 crore ESOP locked for three years—you’ll attract generational talent.”

Others appreciated the vibe of the company. "Great company culture is visible from the job post. Hey fellas, apply,” a user commented.

This isn’t Kamath’s first attention-grabbing hiring post. Earlier this year, he advertised a full-stack developer position offering Rs 40 lakh annually, open to both freshers and candidates with up to two years of experience.
