New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has introduced a new housing plan named Jan Sadharan Awaas Yojana 2025. The scheme is mainly designed to provide affordable houses for people from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Janta category. According to reports by The Indian Express, a total of 1,172 flats will be offered under this plan at different locations in Outer Delhi.
As per officials, the registration process begins today, September 11, while the booking of flats will start from September 22. The scheme will remain open until December 21. Allotment of flats will follow the “first come, first served” method.
The official notice released on Tuesday mentions that the flats are spread across seven areas: Narela, Rohini, Loknayakpuram, Todapur, Dwarka (sectors 14 and 19B), and Manglapuri.
Out of these, Narela has the highest number with 672 flats for EWS applicants. The size of these flats varies between 34.76 sq. m and 61.99 sq. m, while prices are in the range of Rs 9.18 lakh to Rs 27.86 lakh. In Rohini, there are 97 Janta flats, each around 28 sq. m in size, priced from Rs 14.59 lakh. Loknayakpuram will have 108 flats for EWS buyers, measuring between 55.35 sq. m and 61.17 sq. m, costing between Rs 29.6 lakh and Rs 32.62 lakh.
For EWS applicants, the rule is that the combined yearly income of the applicant and co-applicant should not cross Rs 10 lakh. However, for the Janta flats, no income limit has been set, which means more people can apply.
The DDA has also fixed a registration charge of Rs 2,500 on its online housing portal. Applicants already registered do not need to pay again. To reserve a flat, buyers must pay Rs 50,000 as a booking amount for each unit. Interestingly, the authority has stated that there is no upper limit on how many flats one can book, as long as the person fulfills the eligibility rules.
