New Delhi: The vote counting for this year's Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) Election has culminated and the ABVP has won three out of four key seats. ABVP's Aryan Maan won the presidential seat be defeating NSUI's Joshlin Nandita Chaudhary by over 13,000 votes. Rahul Jhansla from NSUI won the vice-presidential seat.
This year, the Delhi High Court issued a strict order banning any kind of victory processions by the winning student union and candidates. DUSU elections conducted on Thursday (September 18) saw over 2.75 lakh students cast their votes. The voting was conducted at 52 centres with 195 booths. The elections were held for key posts like President, Vice President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Bharatiya Janata Party's student wing, emerged victorious in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) Election 2025. The ABVP won the President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary seats, while Congress-backed NSUI claimed the Vice President position.

DUSU Elections 2025: Who is this year's presidential candidate from NSUI?
The Congress' students wing National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has nominated Joslyn Nandita Choudhary, pursuing a master's degree in of Buddhist Studies, for the presidential post of DUSU. During her election campaign, she focused on hostel shortage, demand for menstrual leave, and campus safety for students.
This year, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has nominated Aryan Maan as its DUSU presidential candidate. Maan hails from Haryana's Bahadurgarh. He graduated from Hansraj College. At present, he is pursuing a master's degree in Library Science from Delhi University. In the past, he has been actively involved in several ABVP-led movements like protest against fee hikes, initiatives to improve university infrastructure, and others.
During his presidential campaign, Maan's main focuses were student welfare and campus development initiatives like free Wi-Fi on campus, subsidized metro passes, better sports facilities, accessibility audits, financial assistance for research scholars, and others.

The NSUI has accused the ABVP of manipulating votes. NSUI national president Varun Choudhary also demanded rejection of ABVP’s presidential candidate’s nomination. He accused the union of voting malpractices at Kirori Mal, Hindu and Hansraj Colleges. The outgoing DUSU president, NSUI’s Ronak Khatri also lodged a police complaint accusing ABVP of engaging in vote tampering.
Meanwhile, the ABVP rejected all claims and called it NSUI’s “frustration”. ABVP national general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki said, “NSUI is rattled by ABVP’s growing popularity and is resorting to making unfounded allegations. The CCTV footage should be reviewed. It will expose the lies of NSUI.”
