Indian man stabbed by four teenagers in Australia while trying to stop robbery, all accused arrested
A 28-year-old Hyderabad man, Saif Mohammed Shah, is critically injured after being stabbed while intervening in a theft attempt in Burwood, Australia. Four teenagers have been arrested.
New Delhi: A 28-year-old man from Hyderabad tried to stop four teenagers from committing a theft in Australia's southwest Sydney and was critically injured in the process.
The victim has been identified as Saif Mohammed Shah. His condition is critical, and the NSW police have arrested all four teenagers, three boys aged 13, 14 and 16, and the girl. The police have stated that the incident of stabbing incident took place at a store on Burwood Road, Burwood, around 2 am on Thursday.
How did the incident take place?
Several teenagers tried to rob the shop, and one of the boys stabbed a staff member when he tried to intervene. The Blacktown Police Area Command's officers have arrested the teenagers at Blacktown Railway Station have charged them with robbery and criminal activity. They were refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday, and police are probing the incident.
The victim is in a critical but stable condition, and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has requested External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to ensure he receives proper medical support. Taking to X, "Saif Mohammed Shah from my constituency was temporarily residing in Australia. While he was working at a 7-11 store in Burwood, NSW, Saif was stabbed and is currently undergoing treatment at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. I am in touch with Saif’s father, Ishaq Shah, in Hyderabad." He then urged Jaishankar and Vikram Misri to ensure that Saif receives proper treatment and that the accused are punished.
