JEE Main 2026: Photo verification certificate mandatory non-Aadhar applicants by Jan 7
NTA has instructed JEE Main 2026 non Aadhar applicants to submit a photo verification certificate by January 7. Candidates must upload the attested document online and carry a printed copy on exam day.
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notice for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 applicants who did not use Aadhaar as the identity proof while filling out the application form. The candidates have been asked to complete an additional verification step by January 7.
As per the NTA, those candidates who submitted documents such as a PAN card, Indian passport or non-Indian passport which applying for JEE Main 2026 need to upload a Photo Verification Certificate. This is mandatory to ensure proper identity verification before the entrance exam.
JEE Main 2026: Photo verification certificate submission guidelines
The NTA has informed the respective candidates via email regarding the verification. Candidates need to log in to the official JEE Main website at jeemain.nta.nic.in and download the Photo Verification Certificate from the dashboard. Once it has been downloaded, candidates need to fill in the required details, paste a recent passport-size photograph and get the certificate attested by the principal or headmaster of the school or college.
Once the certificate is completed and attested, candidates need to scan it and upload it in PDF format using the link on the JEE Main candidate portal.
As per the instructions of NTA, the signature of the school or college head must partially overlap both the photograph and the certificate. If this instruction is not followed then the document may be rejected. Candidates are also advised to carry a printed copy of the Photo Verification Certificate to the exam centre on the exam day as it will be used by officials for physical identity verification.
