New Delhi: A major casting update has been confirmed for Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated action drama, as Aaishvary Thackeray officially joins the film’s core ensemble. The project, directed by blockbuster filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, already stars Ahaan Panday and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles, and has been steadily gathering buzz since it was first announced.
With Aaishvary’s entry, the makers have finally secured the film’s principal antagonist, setting the stage for an intense anti-hero versus villain showdown.
Industry sources revealed to TV9 that Aaishvary Thackeray, who made his acting debut in Anurag Kashyap’s Nishaanchi, has been signed for a “significant” role. While the finer details remain tightly guarded, insiders confirmed that his character will serve as the film’s primary villain. For the young actor, this marks a major leap in his career — offering him a chance to prove his range in a large-scale commercial entertainer backed by one of India’s biggest production houses.
The film is positioned as a high-octane action drama built around a morally grey protagonist. Ahaan Panday is expected to play the anti-hero, a character who bends rules, walks the thin line between right and wrong, and refuses to fit into traditional heroic moulds. His screen presence will be balanced by Sharvari Wagh, who has been cast in a powerful role of her own. According to reports, her arc includes an action-driven track that gives her as much narrative heft as the men around her.
Ali Abbas Zafar’s collaboration with YRF has consistently delivered some of Bollywood’s biggest action spectacles like Tiger Zinda Hai, Sultan, Bharat, and expectations remain high for this project as well. Known for blending adrenaline-heavy sequences with strong emotional undercurrents, Zafar is set to return to familiar territory with a young, dynamic cast at the centre.
Ahaan Panday, who made a successful debut under the YRF banner with Saiyaara, continues his association with the studio. Sharvari Wagh, meanwhile, is already headlining Alpha for YRF, further cementing her place among the banner’s rising stars.
