PM Narendra Modi paid tributes to veteran Bollywood actor, Dharmendra who died in Mumbai on Monday. The actor's family was see outside the Vile Parle crematorium. So far there is no official statement from the family regarding the death of the actor.
New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi paid rich tributes to veteran actor Dharmendra, who passed away in Mumbai on Monday. The actor's family were seen arriving at the Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai, earlier in the day. His daughter Esha Deol was seen outside the crematorium, with her head covered with a white dupatta.
No official statement from family, yet
Apart from the Deol family, other actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Aamir Khan were seen arriving at the crematorium. Latest reports said that security has also been tightened outside Dharmendra's house in the city.
PM Modi in a post on 'X' said, "The passing of Dharmendra Ji marks the end of an era in Indian cinema. He was an iconic film personality, a phenomenal actor who brought charm and depth to every role he played. The manner in which he played diverse roles struck a chord with countless people. Dharmendra Ji was equally admired for his simplicity, humility and warmth. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family, friends and innumerable fans. Om Shanti."
So far there is no official statement from his family regarding his death. The actor had earlier this month been admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, but later his family decided to take him back home.
Filmaker Karan Johar put out a post on Instagram with a picture of the actor, saying 'end of an era'.
