New Delhi: Singer and composer Amaal Mallik made a shocking remark about the Hindi film industry. He claimed that Bollywood is trying to do the same thing with Kartik Aaryan that they did with Sushant Singh Rajput. He further said that big producers and actors are trying to sideline Kartik Aaryan in the film industry.
Amaal Mallik shared in a recent interview with Mirchi Plus that the public has understood the reality of the Hindi film industry after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. He added, “The public has understood the reality of this industry… It's so dark that people have lost their lives. Sushant Singh Rajput couldn’t handle it. Whatever happened with him—some call it murder, some call it suicide—whatever it was, the man is gone, right?"
Opining over Bollywood’s dark side, singer Amaal Mallik said, “This industry has done something to his mind or his soul. Or maybe people around him demoralised him. This industry is that kind of place. When that incident came to light, the common man’s sentiment turned against Bollywood… They said, ‘Screw these guys. These people are rotten."
He also said that Sushant Singh Rajput’s death took everything away from the industry, and they rightly deserve to see this “downfall”. He shared, “A good man was wronged. Even today, you can see people trying to do the same things, directly or indirectly, with Kartik Aaryan. He’s dancing his way through it all, smiling, while battling the same problems."
“But behind him, his mother and father are there to support and guide him. He’s also a newcomer who came in, did his work, and yet there are 100 people waiting to pull him down. There’s a power play. Big producers, big actors—they do it all,” he added.
Speaking to TV9 English Digital, Daboo Malik, father of Amaal Malik, said, “They have their own opinion, and they have observations, which they only develop. But this will impact his career, because the industry reacts very differently. He is a very outspoken person, and whether it has anything to do with his music or his creativity, or how he deals with people, he's outspoken, he's unabashed. So that is his nature, that we cannot stop him from being what he is. And, as a father, all I can do is, I like to protect my son, in whatever way I can, (1:08) which every father wants to.”
He further added, “But we don't even know, suddenly stories come up, and they go viral also, and people react to it, people have got different reactions. But it is something which has also, like, a very shocking observation for me also. I was also shaken up, because I'm very, very, very emotional about all the younger generation, you know, whoever it is, on different walks of life.”
“I've seen it, done it, all through, I've gone through my share of isolation, pain and all that. So, I sometimes identify, I sometimes feel that, I have hope, we all elders and everybody also has that bandwidth to protect the younger generation and their mental health and what they're going through. It's quite, quite a challenge,” he concluded by saying.
