New Delhi: The transition from TV to Bollywood is something that many have tried, but not succeeded. Yet, there are a select few who have made this journey seem easy. The actors on this list have impressed their audience with their range, screen presence and the ability to adapt to different characters.

Today, we celebrate ten such actors who have not only made this significant leap but have also transformed their careers, becoming household names through blockbuster films. Their journeys remind us that with talent, hard work, and perseverance, the small screen can indeed be a stepping stone to great cinematic success. 1. Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan began his career on television with the iconic series Fauji (1989) and later in Circus, where his natural charisma and intense screen presence quickly made him a household name. 2. Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput began his career on television, gaining fame from the show Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil (2008). His success on TV led to his Bollywood debut in Kai Po Che! (2013), showcasing his talent and screen presence. He became one of the most promising actors of his generation, but his unexpected death in 2020 highlighted industry issues regarding the treatment of non-Nepo actors.

3. Aditya Roy Kapur

Aditya Roy Kapur started his career in television with commercials and small projects, showcasing his talent. Many do not know that Aditya worked as a video jockey a Channel V India, hosting popular shows such as India’s Hottest and Pakao. He made his film debut in London Dreams (2009) and gained fame with Aashiqui 2 (2013). Known for his emotional characters, he remains a prominent figure in Bollywood, especially admired for his romantic roles.

4. R Madhavan

R Madhavan kickstarted his acting journey with the 1993 drama series Yule Love Stories, Banegi Apni Baat, Ghar Jamai and Saaya. In 1997, Madhavan appeared in the English film Inferno. Following this he starred in the 1998 film Shanti Shanti Shanti, a Kannada comedy film. Since then, Madhavan has starred in over 50 movies across his career.

5. Irrfan Khan

The late legendary actor, Irrfan Khan, is widely celebrated for his films such as The Lunchbox and Life of Pi, among many others. But he began his acting journey with theatre and television. He appeared in serials such as Kahkashan, Chandrakanta, Shrikant, Bharat Ek Khoj, and Just Mohabbat. His seamless transition into the movie industry cemented his legacy as one of the finest actors in cinema.
