New Delhi: Akshay Kumar-starrer Housefull 5, which was heavily criticised, has finally premiered on OTT. The film, also featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, and Jacqueline Fernandez, was released in theatres on June 6 in two versions, Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B. While both versions have the same storyline, it is the climax that’s different.
After its release, the film was criticised for a weak storyline, cringeworthy jokes, and objectifying women in the film. However, if you missed the film in theatres and missed watching one of the versions of the movie, then both have premiered on OTT. Dig inside to know everything about the movie.
Both versions of Housefull 5 have premiered on Amazon Prime Video, but with a twist. The film is not available for free but on rent at Rs 349, but those curious to watch how the story ends in a different version have to spend another Rs 349. So, if you decide to watch both versions, you have to shell out Rs 698. The two versions of the murder mystery have two different killers and two different endings. However, there is no confirmation when the film will be available for free.
Set on a luxury cruise ship, the film revolves around three imposters named Jolly, who claim to be the long-lost heir to a billionaire’s empire. The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Chitrangada Sinha, Sonam Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Nikitin Dheer, and Soundarya Sharma, among others.
The movie collected Rs 198 crore India nett and grossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide. The film became the highest-grossing comedy movie of the year.
