New Delhi: The highly-anticipated trailer of Kantara: Chapter 1 has finally released and it’s a cinematic spectacle. The trailer shows the folklore of Bhoota Kola, also known as Bhootaradhane, a spirit worship and ritualistic dance practice. For those who are unaware, Bhoota Kola is a form of animist worship rooted in beliefs that the spirits or ‘bhootas’ protect people and their welfare.
Set in a rural backdrop, Rishab Shetty shows his strength and determination as he fights with a trident. The clip shows Rishab as a warrior, who tries to save people of a forest land from a ruthless ruler, played by Gulshan Devaiah. According to a legend, villagers believe that a divine messenger will come to their rescue every time an evil threatens to take over humanity.
The trailer has been unveiled by Hrithik Roshan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Siva Karthikeyan and Prabhas in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu, respectively.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the film will release in theatres on October 2, 2025. It is produced by Hombale Films and will be released in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.
