Madhuri Dixit lands in controversy: Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit is once again in the spotlight, but this time for a controversy surrounding her recent live show in Toronto. Fans who had gathered at the Great Canadian Casino Resort were left frustrated after the actress arrived on stage more than two hours late. The delay sparked disappointment and online criticism, prompting the event organisers to issue a formal clarification.
In their statement, the organisers from True Sound Live Ltd. addressed the backlash and attributed the delay to miscommunication from Madhuri’s own management.
The statement read, “We at True Sound Live Ltd. would like to clarify the facts regarding the recent Madhuri Dixit – The Golden Girl of Bollywood show held in Toronto, following misleading social media commentary. The event commenced on time with a high-energy opening act featuring exceptional singers from Indian Idol, exactly as scheduled.”
It was further explained that the programme outline had been shared well in advance with Madhuri’s team. According to the organisers, the schedule included a Q&A session at 8:30 PM, followed by Madhuri’s 60-minute performance. However, they stated, “Madhuri Dixit’s own management team misinformed her about the call time, resulting in her late arrival around 10 PM. This delay was completely beyond the control of True Sound Live Ltd.”
The organisers also claimed that backstage mismanagement contributed to the confusion, noting that some team members were allegedly focused on personal recordings instead of coordinating the performance. “We also want to clarify that certain backstage individuals, including Shreya Gupta, were preoccupied with personal video recordings instead of supporting the artist’s timely coordination,” the statement added.
They emphasised that all contractual, technical, and logistical arrangements were fulfilled from their end and encouraged the public to review performance clips to understand the full context.
Meanwhile, social media saw a divide among fans. While some criticised the organisers, many expressed disappointment toward Madhuri’s team for what they perceived as a lack of professionalism. Audience members described waiting long periods without updates, which led to frustration, even though Madhuri eventually delivered her performance.
As of now, Madhuri Dixit has not released any statement addressing the controversy. Her ongoing Dil Se… Madhuri tour remains under close public attention, with fans hoping for clarity and smoother coordination at upcoming shows.
