New Delhi: Anurag Basu’s latest directorial venture, Metro… In Dino continues to maintain a steady hold at the Indian box office despite facing intense competition from big-ticket releases. The romantic musical drama is headlined by a stellar ensemble cast and has amassed Rs 24.50 crore in domestic collections within its first six days of release.

On Wednesday, the film earned Rs 2.25 crore, its lowest single-day collection so far. Still, the number was considered respectable for a medium-budget, genre-specific film, especially in light of its modest opening of Rs 3.5 crore last Friday. Encouraging word-of-mouth and favourable critical reception have been credited for sustaining its performance during weekdays.

Over the opening weekend, Metro… In Dino witnessed a promising surge, collecting Rs 6 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.25 crore on Sunday. However, Monday brought a sharp 65% drop, with collections dipping to Rs 2.5 crore. The film then earned Rs 3 crore on Tuesday, followed by Wednesday’s Rs 2.25 crore. Its cumulative box office total now stands at Rs 24.50 crore.

According to trade analysts, the film maintained an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.59%, with maximum turnout recorded during evening and night shows. Night screenings saw an 18.61% occupancy, while evening shows followed at 16.33%.

Despite its steady pace, the film has had to navigate a crowded box office. Hollywood releases like Jurassic World Rebirth and F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt, have both posed strong challenges. Released on the same day, Jurassic World Rebirth collected Rs 50.95 crore in six days, more than doubling Metro… In Dino’s total. Meanwhile, F1, in its second week, has already raked in Rs 58.38 crore in India.
