New Delhi: Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah is celebrating his 75th birthday today (July 20). The actor's age doesn't reflect on his work to date. He still seems all fit and fine. So, on his special day, we have curated a list of five movies that are a must-watch.

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has worked in several movies for decades and has done marvellous acting in many of them. He has portrayed different roles both as a supporting actor and a lead actor. He has done justice with almost all of his roles as well. So, dive into the list to watch some of his most praised films to date.

Seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah has worked in several award-winning films. Here are some of his best-recognised films so far.

1. Ijaazat

This film was released in 1987 and starred Rekha and Naseeruddin Shah. It was directed by Gulzar and was based on the story of Jotugriha written by Subodh Ghosh. The movie's storyline is about a couple who have been separated and then meet accidentally at a railway station. Later, they get to know a lot about each other. It received two national film awards in the music category.

2. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

This film was released in 2008 and starred Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal, Genelia D'Souza, Ayaz Khan, among others in lead roles. It was produced by Mansoor Khan and Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan's production house and was directed by Abbas Tyrewala. Its storyline is about two friends, Jay and Aditi, who love each other but don't want a romantic relationship with each other. 

3. Iqbal

The film was released in 2005 and was directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. Whereas the film was produced by Subhas Ghai. The movie starred Shreyas Talpade, Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad, and Shweta Basu Prasad among others in prominent roles. Its storyline is about a deaf and dumb boy who is obsessed with cricket and wants to fulfill his dream of playing for the Indian Cricket team despite his difficulties.   The film received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.

4. Masoom

This family drama was released in 1983 and was directed by Shekhar Kapur. Whereas it was produced by  Chanda Dutt and Devi Dutt. It starred Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, and Saeed Jaffrey. The Film's storyline is about a couple who are happily married and have two daughters. Meanwhile, the husband cheats her wife and has a boy with another woman. And the rest of the movie shows how an illegitimate child is treated and then how he gets adapted into the family.

5. Ishqiya

This movie was released in 2010 and directed by Abhishek Chaubey. It is produced by Raman Maroo and Vishal Bhardwaj. The film starred Naseeruddin Shah, Arsad Warsi, and Vidya Balan in lead roles. It was selected for screening at the 34th Cairo International Film Festival. The plot of the movie was about love, trust, and betrayal. Its sequel, later released in 2014, and was named as Dedh Ishqiya. The film had the same cast and crew.
