New Delhi: Bollywood producer Anand Pandit has heaped praise on Aryan Khan, who made his directorial debut with the Netflix series The B***ds of Bollywood. The show, which offers a witty and self-aware look into the Hindi film industry, has become a trending topic online.

Featuring several star cameos, including a special appearance by Shah Rukh Khan, the series has been lauded for its sharp writing and realistic portrayal of showbiz.

Speaking about the young filmmaker, Anand shared his admiration for Aryan’s storytelling and maturity. He said, “Aryan has scored a win because he understands both success and the challenges that come with it. He knows success has many faces and has seen his father's journey as a superstar and a human being from close quarters. He has enough exposure and insights to be able to tell a compelling story about the industry and has extracted wonderful performances from the lead stars.”

Anand, who has produced several major Bollywood films, expressed pride that Aryan has chosen to follow a different path from his father. “He could have been a fantastic actor. The way he has guided the actors on his sets proves that point. But instead of facing the camera, he has chosen to call the shots. As all of us can see, this decision has paid off in a big way. This boy is all set to carve his own niche and is already building his own legacy,” he added.

The producer credited the series' success to its candid depiction of the world of fame and failure. “The series perfectly captures the duality of stardom — the glittering allure that captivates millions and the darker truths that lie beneath it. So, the reason for its success is its honesty, a quality that audiences are increasingly seeking in every format,” Anand noted.

The B***ds of Bollywood joins a long line of self-referential works about the film industry, following classics like Om Shanti Om, Rangeela, and Luck By Chance. However, Aryan’s take stands out for its modern tone, satirical edge, and insider understanding of celebrity culture.
