New Delhi: A Veteran South Korean actor, Song Young-Kyu, who is known for his works and roles in some of the most famous K-dramas, has been found dead. This incident has shocked everyone from his fans to the people in the Korean film industry. The actor's body has been found inside his vehicle. He has recently been caught in a DUI scandal. For those who don't know what DUI is, it is when people in South Korea drive while drunk, and they get caught due to their alcohol content in their body. The punishment given to the people held for this crime can be a fine to imprisonment, or license revocation.
As per some media reports, the 55-year-old actor was found dead in his car on Sunday (August 3) at a townhouse complex in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The reason for his death is still unknown. Song Young Kyu was arrested two months ago, on June 19, for driving while drunk, and his blood test showed that it has an alcohol concentration of 0.08 per cent.
This incident has made the actor let go of lots of opportunities, such as his several acting roles like ENA’s, The Defects, SBS's The Winning Try, and stage play Shakespeare In Love. Not only this, the makers of his project, The Defects, which he had already shot, issued a statement stating that his screen time would be restricted following the controversy. According to speculations going around, the actor was going through so much stress regarding the DUI that he ended his life by himself. However, no official reports suggest anything as such for now. An investigation is underway by the Yongin Eastern Police Station to uncover the reason behind the death of the actor.

The South Korean actor is well known for his roles in popular K-dramas, including Big Bet, Hwarang, and Hot Stove League. The actor started his career in 1994 with the Wizard Mureul. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
