New Delhi: War 2 has roared into cinemas with a wave of anticipation. But it’s not just the high-octane stunts and superstar pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR that have audiences talking. The post-credits scene, or should we say, the mid-credit scene, quietly tucked away after the explosive finale.
Fans who got to witness the early shows of War 2 on Thursday (August 14) couldn’t stop themselves from sharing the clip online. The post-credit scene has already set social media alight, and for good reason.
Despite repeated requests from the cast and crew urging fans to steer clear of spoilers, clips of the scene have begun circulating online. Those who stayed back after the credits were treated to the first tantalising glimpse of Bobby Deol’s mysterious role in Alpha. It is the next instalment in the ever-expanding YRF Spy Universe.
In the post-credit scene of War 2, Bobby’s character is shown stamping a covert agency’s insignia onto the arm of a young girl. The shot has prompted fevered speculation that the child may be a younger version of Alia Bhatt’s upcoming character in Alpha. Reports have suggested that Bobby will play the central antagonist in the film, potentially serving as both mentor and eventual nemesis to her. The big reveal has already ignited countless fan theories, with some predicting a deeply personal rivalry at the heart of the story.
The reveal marks another calculated step in YRF’s increasingly interconnected spy franchise. Alpha also stars Munjya fame Sharvari alongside Alia and Bobby. It is directed by Shiv Rawail and will be the seventh instalment in the YRF Spy Universe.
As for War 2 itself, the Ayan Mukerji-directed action thriller has launched with solid box office numbers, buoyed by Jr NTR’s colossal following in South India. Audiences have applauded the on-screen chemistry between Hrithik and NTR, as well as the film’s grand scale.
