New Delhi: Comedian Rajiv Thakur, who was a part of The Great Indian Kapil Show, is missing from the current season. His absence was also noticed by several viewers which made them wonder the reason behind the same. Now, in an interview with Pinkvilla, he revealed the real reason behind his absence from the comedy show.
Rajiv was a part of Season 1 and Season 2 of The Great Indian Kapil Show. While the new season welcomed Navjot Singh Sidhu alongside Archana Puran Singh, Rajiv was noticeably missing.
Opening up about missing from The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3, he told Pinkvilla, “Itne bade show se koi rest nahi leta, obviously aapko nikala gaya hoga (No one takes such a long break from a big show, obviously, you must have been removed)."
He then laughed it off as a joke and added that some dates didn’t match because they were asking him to come in between. He shared, “I did one episode, but then I didn’t have dates for the next. For me, once I’ve made a commitment, I want to stick to it. They also have a strict time constraint — the episode has to be just 55 minutes. With Kiku, Krushna, and the guest already having so much to do, there’s very little space left for you.”
Meanwhile, the first episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show 3 was graced by Salman Khan. The upcoming episode will be attended by Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha.
Actor and comedian Rajiv Thakur has announced his India tour titled, Gen Z Aur 90s Wale. He will have his first stand-up comedy show at Gurugram’s Guftagu Comedy Club on August 8, followed by a show in Delhi on August 9. He will be performing in cities including Bengaluru, Lucknow, Hyderabad and conclude his tour on September 28 in Kanpur.
