Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, a key accused in the assassination of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, has been deported to India from the United States. A senior police official confirmed his repatriation, marking a significant development in the high-profile case.
Bishnoi is also wanted in connection with the April 2024 firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's Bandra residence. He is expected to arrive in Delhi on 19th November. Agencies had previously received intelligence that Bishnoi, known for frequently travelling between the US and Canada, was detained while allegedly using a forged Russian passport.
With multiple cases registered against him across the country, the Union government will now decide which agency will secure initial custody of Bishnoi for interrogation. Zeeshan Siddiqui, Baba Siddiques son, confirmed receiving an email from US authorities regarding Bishnois removal from American soil and expressed hope for his prompt trial in India.
